Answering Olof’s Questions

Following the Gollchers from Sweden to Malta

Part of the Palazzo Falson 10th Anniversary Seminar: A Decade of Palazzo Falson - Recent Research

Lecture by Cecilia Lindhé, with an introduction to the seminar by Palazzo Falson curator (dates?) Francesca Balzan

During the 1950s, Olof Gollcher tried to trace his ancestors and during this talk Lindhé will answer some of the questions he had not managed to resolve about the early family history. The narrative of this presentation begins with a letter from the authorities in Danzig, continues in the archipelago of Gothenburg and the harbours of Stockholm before reaching Malta. Tracing the family history through the centuries, Lindhé will also tell fascinating stories that relate to Consular Archives, the Swedish author Fredrika Bremer and an Egyptian mummy.
